During World War II, a young (18 years old) Russian doctor, Natalie Baskov, is sent on a mission to a secret fortress. Her boss Vasily instructed her to find an English spy named Ingrid. Once in the fortress, Natalie is harassed by sadistic directors Helga. Natalie is having a tumultuous romance with a handsome German officer. Meanwhile, the partisans are preparing an operation to liberate the fortress.
